A0 poster printing

A0 is the largest size in the DIN series: 841 × 1189 mm, roughly one square metre of image. An A0 poster stands out from a long way off in an exhibition hall or a sports hall. It is made for anyone dressing a whole space: exhibitors at trade fairs and regional shows, concert and festival organisers, clubs, schools, municipalities and companies with several sites.

The A0 poster configurator opens on 100 g glossy coated paper; in this version the quantity scale starts at 50 copies. The quantities available vary with the paper, and the configurator shows them for each material, with the price in CHF including VAT. The larger the run, the lower the price per poster.

What the configurator offers in A0

In A0, printing is always 4/0: the front in full colour (CMYK), the back left unprinted. No finishing, neither varnish nor lamination, is available in this size, so the impact comes down to paper and design. If the poster is to hang in the middle of a room and be seen from both sides, plan two copies mounted back to back.

Paper does the job of a finish

In A0 you can choose from 30 papers and materials, from 80 g white offset to 840 g cardboard. Since neither lamination nor varnish is possible, the paper does the work of a finish: its weight decides how sturdy the poster is, its matt or glossy surface how it looks under hall lighting.

Fairs, halls, events: where A0 makes the difference

A0 works best wherever people pass by quickly:

• Trade fairs and regional shows: a large image on the back wall of the stand, or a sign guiding visitors to you. Walls, counters and displays are in the Exhibition stands category.
• Halls and foyers: the season's programme at a theatre entrance, a site map in a school or the municipal building.
• Event decoration: a row of identical posters along the wall of a multi-purpose hall for a club's annual evening, an anniversary or the staff party, forming a continuous backdrop.
• Campaigns across several sites: the same poster for a concert, a festival or a promotion in all your branches and shop windows.

A0 fits snap frames and poster hangers made for A0; on a stand wall, measure the free space first. Before an autumn or spring fair, order early: delivery times are shown before you order.

Preparing your A0 print file

A trimmed A0 poster is 841 × 1189 mm. Full resolution at 300 dpi would take 9933 × 14043 pixels, a very large file. An A0 poster is usually read from a few metres away and a lower resolution is enough in practice; we are happy to tell you which value suits your design if you write to us via our contact page. A phone photo that looks sharp on A4 can turn soft on A0, so plan for large enough images from the start.

Smaller poster sizes
