Which formats are available for saddle-stitched magazines?
You can choose from A7 up to A4, including A6 and A5, as well as DL, 17 x 24 cm, 21 x 28 cm and squares from 12 x 12 cm to 21 x 21 cm. A4, A5 and DL come in both portrait and landscape. That way you will find the right format for a club magazine, a company brochure or a programme.
How many pages can a saddle-stitched magazine have?
Between 8 and 116 pages including the cover, in steps of 4 pages. The number you select always includes the 4 cover pages: 96 inner pages plus 4 cover pages make 100 pages, for example. Plan your content so that the total is a multiple of 4.
Which paper should I choose for the magazine cover and inner pages?
Matt coated paper in 130 g and 170 g is especially popular for both cover and inner pages. For a sturdier cover you can go up to 300 g coated or 350 g white offset, and for light inner pages down to 70 g. Many papers are available PEFC-certified, and the cover can have matt or soft-feel lamination or a glossy UV varnish.
What is the minimum print run for a saddle-stitched magazine?
From 100 copies, then 250, 500, 1000 and far more. The configurator immediately shows the price in CHF, VAT included, for every quantity and updates it if you change the page count or paper. For very large runs or special requests, we will prepare a quote for you.
How do I prepare the print file for my magazine?
Download the template for your format on this page, in German or French. Lay out all pages, cover included, to match the page count you selected, then export a PDF, TIFF or JPEG in CMYK at 300 dpi with 3 mm bleed. Our prepress team checks the file before printing, and our design service can handle the layout on request.
